GH Squared Ltd is an engineering consultancy company based near Southampton with over 50 years of combined experience and expertise in a wide range of engineering disciplines and market sectors.

We have expertise in Electronic Design, Embedded Software, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Design and Data Management & Analytics. Market sectors we have previously worked in include Rail, Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy, Heavy Industry & Defence. Some of our specialisations are in sensors for structural and condition monitoring, wireless telemetry & IOT systems. We have a particular interest in designing for harsh environments (shock, vibration, temperature) and low power optimisation.
JONATHAN GORE
Senior Consultant & Director
Jon has extensive experience in Technology, Development and Engineering Management spanning a career extending over 26 years. Jon has experience as an Engineering Director in SME organisations (Guardian Global Technologies Ltd, now part of Core Laboratories Inc and Perpetuum Ltd, now part of Hitachi Rail Ltd). Key to the success of these roles was the implementation of efficient and productive engineering structures and processes to manage growth, whilst ensuring the highest standards of engineering excellence and quality are achieved.

Jon is a Chartered Physicist with a broad technology, science and engineering background. His early work focussed on magnetic materials and smart materials technology before moving into smart device technology, electromechanical instrumentation, wireless sensing and IOT systems. He has worked in a range of market sectors including Defence, Oil & Gas & Rail.
​
Over his career, his work has been widely published at international conferences and in over 20 journal papers, as well as 19 patent applications in total.

RICHARD HAINES
Senior Consultant & Director
Richard has 15 years of experience working in fast-paced engineering businesses, with skills in Engineering Management, Project Management and Product Delivery. He has worked across a range of industries including Aerospace, Rail and Renewables, with a focus on good communication, effective tools, and a positive team spirit to deliver projects successfully.

Richard enjoys working on international programmes and has experience building engineering capabilities in USA, India and Australia to deliver products and software services to customers at the highest level of quality.
​
With an Aerospace background, Richard’s early work focused on structural design with composite materials. He gained Chartership whilst at AgustaWestland Helicopters, and was awarded a RAeS commendation for his work on the composite design of tilt rotor aircraft.
​
In his spare time, he is an avid windsurfer and loves travelling in search of the best conditions!

CHRIS HARDEN
Senior Consultant & Director
Chris is an Electronic and Systems engineer with skills and interests which span a wide range of engineering disciplines. He has experience of the complete product lifecycle from requirements capture and concept design, through manufacture and testing to failure analysis and repair. His main areas of expertise include low power embedded microcontrollers, sensors, wireless communication, PCB design, EMC and vibration testing. Very much a 'hands on' engineer, he enjoys getting involved in electronic and mechanical assembly, testing and rework, whether in a laboratory, factory or in the field. He enjoys solving engineering problems and optimising designs for performance, manufacturability and reliability.

Chris also has a background in professional audio and live sound engineering, including the design and build of loudspeaker cabinets.
